Workshops (currently offered via Zoom)
Not a fan of free motion quilting? This one day workshop will show you how to quilt with your walking foot with stunning results. This technique is the new rage in quilting. We will get our inspiration from a book written by Canadian designer Melissa Marginet. Get ready to bring your quilts to the next level!!
It is hard to squeeze in a big quilt through the opening of a sewing machine but you don’t want to pay a huge amount of money to have your quilt professionally done. The solution is to quilt section by section and then assembling your quilt. Have no fear! These techniques will make it possible to quilt your own quilt! Bonus: you will have the satisfaction of completing your own quilt from beginning to end.
In this workshop, you will learn the advantages of each of 7 QAYG techniques, how to choose the best technique to achieve the results you want, how to adapt a regular pattern into a QAYG and get stunning results.
At the end of the workshop, you will have made a sample of each of the techniques so that you can make a binder for future reference.
(This reversible quilt was assembled using one of the techniques covered in the workshop.)
You want to widen your possibilities of QAYG ? You will learn two unique techniques developed by Australian designer Pauline Rogers. These techniques, with numerous variations, make quilting our quilts so much fun and accessible to all! With all these techniques, the seams will be on top of your quilt and covered with a sashing.
