Title: Picking up the Thread between Quilting and Coaching (45 minutes + Q&As)
Marie-Claire Charette a.k.a. La Quilting Coach, has spent most of her professional career to assist managers and executives develop their leadership skills. Now semi-retired, Marie-Claire invests more time in her other passion which is sharing her love of quilting. What she has discovered is that her two passions complement each other. In her opinion, quilting can be more than a quilt on a bed but a path to self-discovery, building strong relationships and even healing.

Stepping out of the traditional way of assembling our quilts can be both exhilarating and frightening. Marie-Claire Charette (ak.a. La Quilting Coach) will take you on her path of research and discovery which led her to create a repertory of 9 QAYG techniques. This has enabled her to adapt any regular pattern in a QAYG.

Workshops
Not a fan of free motion quilting? This one day workshop will show you how to quilt with your walking foot with stunning results. This technique is the new rage in quilting. We will get our inspiration from a book written by Canadian designer Melissa Marginet. Get ready to bring your quilts to the next level!!
It is hard to squeeze in a big quilt through the opening of a sewing machine but you don’t want to pay a huge amount of money to have your quilt professionally done. The solution is to quilt section by section and then assembling your quilt. Have no fear! These techniques will make it possible to quilt your own quilt! Bonus: you will have the satisfaction of completing your own quilt from beginning to end.
In this workshop, you will learn the advantages of each of 7 QAYG techniques, how to choose the best technique to achieve the results you want, how to adapt a regular pattern into a QAYG and get stunning results.
At the end of the workshop, you will have made a sample of each of the techniques so that you can make a binder for future reference.

You want to widen your possibilities of QAYG ? You will learn two unique techniques developed by Australian designer Pauline Rogers. These techniques, with numerous variations, make quilting our quilts so much fun and accessible to all! With all these techniques, the seams will be on top of your quilt and covered with a sashing.

The possibilities are endless with Laura Heine’s novel patterns of collage. This is an easy technique to learn that give stunning results and it is a fun way to use your stash. Get ready with a pair of scissors to do decoupage and let the fun begin!!
5. Introduction to English Paper Piecing (Half –day ) In person or on Zoom
Learn the basics of English Paper Piecing (EPP) which is a technique of folding fabric over paper templates and handsewing these together. This technique is easy and fun and requires only paper templates, fabric, scissors (or rotary cutter), thread, needles and fabric glue so it is a great craft to take with you when you are on the go.
Foundation paper piecing is a very common quilting technique that enable us to achieve complicated designs with perfect piecing. Come and learn tips and tricks to add this technique to your quilting repertory. This workshop is intended for those who have never done paper piecing or those who need a refresher.

Block of the Month
Mykindatown (One hour meeting a month during 8 months by Zoom)
This paper pieced project which measures 42x54 depicts houses and buildings and offers a wonderful opportunity to create your favorite town. Once a month, the group will gather by Zoom to show their latest block and brainstorm ideas for the next block. Prior to the kick-off of this quilting venture, a paper-pieced technique workshop will be offered for those who are not familiar with this technique or for those who need a refresher. For the experienced paper-piecing quilters, you can make it more challenging by making it in a miniature format which will be half of the original size.
